Keep Roots Out Of The Sewer

Keep Roots Out Of The Sewer

The Attack of the Tree Roots
Avoid planting trees over sewer laterals and near sewer mains.

Before you plant your tree, know where your sewer lateral line is located, so you don’t plant your tree over your sewer later line. The roots of the tree look for moisture and nutrients and will find joints and cracks in sewer lines. As the roots grow in the sewer line, toilet paper and other debri will get caught on the roots causing blockages. If the roots are not removed, they will eventually weaken the pipe and cause a collapse.
