Payson City Solid Waste

Garbage cans are provided by Payson City for residential and commercial use. Make sure your cans are on the street by 6:00 a.m. or the night before your scheduled pickup. The following guidelines should be followed to minimize problems with pickup:

• Make sure the can is facing forward with the handle facing away from the street
• Don't place can within 8 feet of any vehicle, trailer, etc.
• If you have multiple cans, separate them by at least two (2) feet
• Do not overfill the can as garbage will fall out before the garbage can is dumped. You will be responsible to pick up any spilled garbage
• Garbage placed around the can on the ground will not be picked up. The garbage truck will only pick up cans.

Contact the Solid Waste Department at 801-465-5217 or the Utility Department at 801-465-5200 ext 5 to request a replacement or additional can.

Recycling Services

The following Recycling is now offered to Payson City Residents. Please see the downloadable recycling sheet at the bottom of the page.

Pick up days will be the same as Payson City's trash pick-up days with the following exceptions:
*The Maples at Brookside (town-homes only) recycling will be picked up on Mondays.
*Majestic Meadows recycling will be picked up on Wednesdays.

Please note: Recycling is picked up every other week.  Please see calendar below.

Recycling Service Reminders

• Be sure only approved recyclable items are in the container.
• Please have your container at the curb by 7 a.m. on your assigned trash collection day.
• Ensure your container has five feet of clearance from any vehicle or fixed object.
• The container needs to have two feet of clearance from any other garbage or recycling container.
