Open Burn Permit

Open Burn will take place in the Spring from 
March 30th thru May 30th,
and in the Fall from 
September 15th thru October 30th.

*Any burning of weeds and yard waste inside Payson City limits beyond these dates is prohibited.  For regulations on Recreational Burning and Fire Pits click here. 

**Leaves are not allowed to be burned at any time.  The do not burn, they smolder creating a lot of smoke and smell.  For rules and regulations regarding open burn, click here.

Apply for your Open Burn permit
If the website will not let you apply, it is because the clearing index is not above 500 feet and it is not a burn day.
Once you have completed the application and received a Burn Permit number you are able to proceed with your open burn, following all rules and regulations.   YOU DO NOT need the Fire Chief’s Signature to proceed, and you do not need to contact the county.
