Mike Hardy

Councilman Mike Hardy was born in Idaho Falls, Idaho, and was raised in Layton, Utah. After graduating from Davis High School in Kaysville, Mike attended the University of Utah and earned a BA Degree in Psychology. Other schooling has included the following:

Participated in a year long program as an exchange student in Taipei, Taiwan between National Taiwan University and the University of Utah.

Graduated with a Masters of Business Degree from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

Graduated from a 3 year program at the Pacific Coast Banking School in Seattle, Washington.
While attending high school during the summers Mike worked for the Layton Parks Department. Other work experience has included:

Delivering Air Freight while pursuing academic studies at the University of Utah.

Worked for Manufacturers National Bank of Detroit for 8 years in Detroit, Michigan as a credit analyst and loan officer

Moved to Cheyenne, Wyoming, and worked for 15 years cumulatively for a number of large and small banks including Norwest Banking of Wyoming and First National Bank of Wyoming as a bank loan officer, branch manager, and commercial real estate supervisor

Joined Zions First National Bank in 2002. He has worked in Salt Lake as a credit administrator, and in Payson (for 8 years), Spanish Fork, and Santaquin as a Business Banking Officer.

Has also owned and operated a small computer services company for 5 years.
Volunteer work in the city has included:

3 years as Chairman of the Downtown Marketing Committee

3 years as President of the Greater Payson Chamber of Commerce, with an additional 4 years as a member of the Board of Directors

2 years as a Member of the Payson Planning Commission

Member and Secretary of the Huish Performing Arts Restoration Committee

Member and Past President of the Payson Kiwanis Club

Mike has been married for 38 years to the former Bonnie Lynn Cox, from Centerville, Utah. They have been blessed with 5 children and 5 wonderful grandchildren. He enjoys reading, scouting, traveling, and caring for his family.
